Maja for Sunvibes

We met Maja, the (beautiful) face behind Travel Palma, some weeks ago
at MyMuybueno women in business breakfast, and we quickly became friends.
We love her lifestyle blog about her life on Mallorca,
so we asked her to pick her favorite Sunvibes pieces and bring us to her favorite spots
in Palma.
We also asked her some little questions about her beginnings with her blog,
and about her favorite things to do in Palma on a weekend.

MAJA FOR SUNVIBES

READ THE INTERVIEW WITH MAYA

Define what living in Mallorca means for you, in 3 words

Adventure, freedom and love

How would you describe your style?

Like a mix between a Mediterranean boho style with a big love for caftans and dresses and a Scandinavian street style with a love for simple lines, denim jeans and sneakers as well as boots. I am very driven by my feelings and therefor I love to play around with different styles to mix them.

How did you start your blog? What's your favorite thing about blogging?

Initially I started the blog and Instagram now called travelpalma when living in Thessaloniki, Greece. It was founded under the name travelthessaloniki and I started it to try and get the word out about this rather forgotten part of Greece. Most people know of the Greek islands but the mainland is more unknown, and for us as foreigners it was hard to find any information about what to see and do in English, so after a year of living there, exploring like crazy, I decided to create this information myself.

When we then got the opportunity to move to Mallorca of course there wasn’t the same kind of lack of information, but what I discovered is that there is nothing like travelpalma either, since we are posting our own photos and material about our gems on the island.

I love blogs and Instagram because of the freedom. I am in control of what is being written and said, and for me it is a way of practising the freedom of speech which is not something that everyone can take for granted.

You have a day off. What are your favorite plans for a sunny winter day?

I leave the house at 09.30 with Victor and Cleo for a walk in the city. We sit down on a Sunny terrace for breakfast maybe at El Perrito or mymuybueno Deli, depending on which area we decide to go. We continue to stroll around the center and we get a coffee from La Finca, Mistral or Cafe Riutort

After walking back home we jump into the car and drive to Banyalbufar, we have a short hike and then a picnic by the sea, and we will watch the sunset before heading back home. We are to tired to cook dinner so we order the most amazing takeaway pizza from Los Dos Hermanos for dinner, and if it’s not to cold we will take Cleo on her evening walk around the center and buy an ice cream for desert at Bobom gelato

Which is your favorite Sunvibes piece right now?

I am in love with the custom dress that you made for me, but I also adore the Fairy Boho Dress in Daisy.

What are your travel essentials? (hand luggage only! :)

My big piece of hand luggage is always Cleo, as she gets to travel with me in the cabin wherever I go. In my backpack I put my camera, my sunnies, a book, dark chocolate (I get angry when I don’t eat), a piece of swimwear, undies and my big wool scarf (most lovely thing to wrap around you if the aircraft is getting cold).
